If things are going well, make sure they’ll still be going well if the temperature dropped 20°. However, don’t get too content with yourself.
Frostpunk tips generator#
Pretty much all you have to do is keep everyone housed, and keep the generator running. You’ll have to think about the cold for every decision you make after day four. You don’t need to build gathering posts for people to collect resources. It’s a great time to stockpile on valuable resources that you’ll need later on. After the first temperature drop, people won’t be able to work in outside conditions, and you’ll need to start thinking of ways to keep things warmThink of the first few days as a grace period. You don’t even have to start running your generator until the first night, and it doesn’t take up that much coal. Use the first few days to collect resourcesĭespite the overall crushing difficulty of the game, the first few days are relatively easy. Are they warm enough? Is everyone well-fed? Are the sick being treated? These are questions you can’t ignore, or else the game will force you to face them.

While managing resources such as coal and wood, you also need to manage your people. You’re gonna have to push your citizens to their limits, and it’s for their own good. On the other hand, if you constantly think this way, you’ll never get anything done. When someone dies, it’s not just Worker #23, it’s Edward Smith, the father of two. People have names and families for a reason. Frostpunk also tries to humanize people, as strange as they may sound. Frostpunk makes many different statements about human life, especially on how a person’s usefulness ties into if they should be alive or not. This one needs a little more explanation. It’s also important to bring your scouts back if the storm gets too close, as it will kill your scouts, as well as take out any cargo they might be carrying. Anyone you haven’t saved will be dead, and any resources you didn’t grab will be lost. The reason you wanna do this right away is in the end game, you won’t be able to scout, as the storm will kill anyone outside of your city. There are two things you get from scouting that you can get any other way, these things are people and steam cores. You can use this beacon to send out scouts to the wasteland, bringing back resources that will let you live a little longer.

One of the reasons that researching is so important is that it allows you to make a beacon. It’s an investment you can’t afford to not make. You should build a workshop on your first day, or immediately.
Frostpunk tips upgrade#
On top of this, workshops are the only place you have to upgrade your generator, which is kind of important. You need to be able to gather resources in different ways, and you can also research ways to make the building warmer. Having at least one active workshop is imperative to survival. You can build more workshops to increase the effectiveness, but this maxes out at about 4. The workshop allows you to use up to 5 engineers to research things that will help you out immensely. The very instant you start the game, you’ll have enough resources to build a workshop.
